Shipping and Trading Network (STN) – a headhunting firm specialised in commodities – is working on behalf of a client, a fast-growing entrepreneurial trading company active across agriculture and energy. We are looking for a Head of Risk to build and lead a world-class risk management framework. The role in a snapshot: Lead global risk management across coffee, palm oil, UCO, fertilizer, biofuels, and refined oil products. Set up risk policies, appetite, and limits for both physical and derivative trading. Oversee market, credit, and operational risk – including freight, storage, and sustainability certifications. Implement stress testing, scenario analysis, and counterparty risk assessments. Build and mentor a high-performing global risk team. Collaborate closely with trading heads, CFO/partners, IT, and treasury. The ideal profile: 12 years’ risk management experience in a major trading house, agribusiness, or energy company. Strong exposure to multi-commodity supply chains and derivatives (futures, swaps, options). Proven track record of team leadership and stakeholder influence. Familiarity with sustainability-linked trading and regulatory frameworks (CFTC, MiFID, EMIR). Analytical, proactive, and solutions-driven mindset.
