Your Purpose
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Legal Counsel to join our team at a leading Port Infrastructure and Port Asset Management company. The ideal candidate will have a strong legal background with a focus on infrastructure development and asset management. This role involves working closely with Group Legal Department stakeholders, external advisors, and regulatory bodies to ensure that the company’s operations remain compliant with applicable laws and regulations.
Your Impact
The Legal Counsel, under the supervision of the Group Legal Department, will provide legal advice and support on a wide range of legal matters relating to port infrastructure development and management, including but not limited to:
* Drafting, reviewing, and supporting a wide range of contracts, including construction agreements, concession agreements, lease agreements, and service agreements.
* Ensuring that agreements are compliant with relevant laws and regulations, and aligned with the company’s business objectives and standards.
* Ensuring compliance with local, national, and international laws governing port operations, environmental regulations, maritime law, and trade.
* Monitoring changes in relevant regulations.
* Liaising with government agencies, regulators, and industry associations to stay updated on evolving legal standards and best practices.
* Providing legal support on acquisitions and other corporate transactions, such as joint ventures, related to port infrastructure development projects.
* Supporting due diligence and risk assessments for potential acquisitions or partnerships in the port infrastructure sector.
* Ensuring that corporate affairs within subsidiaries engaged in port development activities are handled in accordance with best practices adopted at the group level.
* Drafting corporate policies and guidelines related to legal and compliance matters.
Your Journey so far
Educational requirements: Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree.
* Experience: 5-7 years of legal experience, focusing on infrastructure development, maritime law, or asset management. Experience in the port and logistics industry is highly desirable.
* License to practice law is mandatory. Licenses in the UK, major EU jurisdictions, or the US are advantageous.

* Strong knowledge of infrastructure development, port management, construction law, and maritime regulations.
* Excellent negotiation, drafting, and contract management skills.
* Deep understanding of regulatory compliance, risk management, and corporate governance.
* Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide business-oriented advice.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
