The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. In that case, details of any planned changes would be provided to you by DePuy Synthes at an appropriate time and subject to any necessary consultation processes. /p h3Position Summary /h3 pThe Manager External Operations functions as the supply chain lead for DePuy‑Synthes External Operations manufacturing sites. The External Operations Manager is responsible for monitoring and escalating any issues of the relationship with assigned external manufacturers to deliver reliable product supply and total cost effectiveness while meeting or exceeding all customer service, compliance and product requirements. /p h3Major Responsibilities /h3 pResponsible for working with strategic collaborator on managing the manufacturing operations to ensure that products are available to meet customer needs. Manages costs and feasibility requests and vendor quotes and makes recommendations to Director of Operations. Identifies new suppliers and evaluates their capabilities. At this level, the position influences the business results and, typically, responsibility for managing a group of professionals. /p h3Critical Success Factors Or Scope Or Responsibilities /h3 ul liDevelops a strong understanding of the process and all technical details for the product currently manufactured at the contract manufacturing facility. /li liManages the approval/purchase/delivery/installation schedule of significant number of capital equipment across strategic collaborator sites and all ancillary projects to manage manufacturing floorspace. /li liProcesses all disputed purchases of goods and services and claims for the protection of the company and with fairness to the strategic collaborator. /li liEstablishes and implements policies, standards, guidelines, technology and procedures for procuring materials and services, as directed by the Director of Operations. /li liManages current technology transfer and startup activity at the third‑party facility. Ensures that third party achieves commercial operations. /li liMaintains relationships with strategic collaborator to ensure good, reliable sources of supply and information. /li liDefines and builds relationships with cross‑functional stakeholders to leverage opportunities. Manage prospective improvements, corrective actions, validations and manufacturing scale ups at the site. /li liDevelops monthly metrics and data in support of detailed worldwide sales and order. Ensures documentation, training, configuration, testing, production promotions, archiving are in compliance with business and regulatory policies. /li liMaintains awareness of current market trends and conditions that affect suppliers, the cost of goods, pricing and may have operational or strategic implications for the company. /li liIdentifies opportunities. Supervises the cost reduction efforts. /li /ul h3Experience And Key Competencies /h3 ul liExperience working in Manufacturing Operations, specifically in a GMP environment, is required. /li liMedical technology experience preferred. Experience in multiple disciplines of supply chain including External Operations, Manufacturing, Procurement, Distribution or Finance. /li liPrior experience in managing suppliers, and working on supplier agreements is highly preferred. /li liStrong analytical/technical aptitude competence, project management skills and prior experience leading cross‑functional projects is required. /li liThe successful candidate will be a demonstrated self‑starter with strong oral and written communication skills, comfortable communicating across functional levels. /li liExperience with Six Sigma/Process Excellence tools, training and/or certification is preferred. /li liExperience with the commercialization of new products is highly preferred. /li liProficiency is required for Internet and MS Office Suite.
