Drive and optimize enterprise engineering systems by managing application strategy, integrations, and technical infrastructure to support product development and operational excellence.
Your Role & Responsibilities Define and execute the engineering applications strategy aligned with business and engineering priorities
Own the application portfolio roadmap, lifecycle management, and performance monitoring
Lead application standardization and consolidation initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce redundancy
Manage software vendors, licensing, and cost optimization across the application portfolio
Identify and implement automation, AI/ML capabilities, and emerging technologies within the systems roadmap
Act as the technical lead and primary owner for engineering applications, including hands-on configuration, administration, integration, and troubleshooting
Administer and maintain PLM, CAD, and related enterprise platforms, including infrastructure, databases, and application environments
Configure workflows, lifecycles, business rules, and system integrations supporting engineering and manufacturing processes
Manage user roles, permissions, security policies, and access controls aligned with data classification and export requirements
Plan and execute upgrades, patches, and system migrations while minimizing operational disruption
Configure and maintain integrations between PLM, CAD, ERP, and other engineering systems to ensure data synchronization and traceability
Support data exchange with manufacturing execution systems and requirements management tools
Develop and maintain automated scripts, interfaces, and system integrations
Ensure data integrity, proper file structures, naming conventions, and change management processes
Coordinate and mentor a small team while tracking project scope, progress, and risks
Collaborate closely with engineering, configuration management, manufacturing, and IT stakeholders to align systems with business requirements
Drive tool adoption, user training, and enterprise-wide awareness initiatives
Serve as a trusted advisor for engineering systems and technology solutions
Required Technical & Professional Expertise Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)
Minimum 3 years of experience in enterprise applications, engineering systems, or related technical environments, including direct support of engineering tools such as PLM and CAD systems
Proven experience with hands-on system administration and system integrations within aerospace, automotive, manufacturing, or similar industries
Experience managing application portfolios, vendor relationships, and software licensing optimization
Strong background in enterprise application architecture, administration, integration, and development
Proficiency with PLM platforms and engineering tools such as Teamcenter, NX, Altium, Jira, Polarion, or similar systems
Experience integrating ERP systems, manufacturing tools, and relational databases such as SQL
Familiarity with scripting and automation technologies including Python, PowerShell, or Shell scripting
Understanding of product development environments, engineering change management, configuration management, and BOM structures
Exposure to cloud platforms, cybersecurity practices, AI/ML technologies, and regulated data environments is advantageous
Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams
Good English skills (written and spoken); German is desirable
Eligibility to work in Switzerland (Swiss or EU citizenship required)
