What is the role that we need? We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Portfolio & Trade Lifecycle Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the comprehensive accounting of our investment portfolios, from the moment a trade is executed to its final settlement and valuation. This role requires a strong understanding of financial instruments, accounting principles, and the entire trade lifecycle. You'll play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial data, supporting performance analysis, and complying with all relevant regulations .
Key Responsibilities:
Perform T+1 Reconciliations of Cash and Positions, ensuring timely settlement of trades corporate actions, interest and capital movements.
Perform monthly security level reconciliations and valuation (Mark-to-Market review)
Trade Lifecycle Management:
Oversee the entire trade lifecycle, including trade capture, validation, confirmation, and settlement.
Collaborate with front office traders, middle office operations, and back office teams to resolve trade discrepancies and ensure a smooth operational flow .
Compliance and Process Improvement:
Identify and implement improvements in accounting processes and systems for increased efficiency.
Attention to Detail: Ensures accurate entry and reconciliation of financial data.
Compliance Focus: Adheres strictly to regulatory standards, internal controls, and financial policies.
Analytical Thinking:
Data-Driven Insight: Interprets financial data to inform decisions and drive improvements.
Problem Solving: Identifies financial discrepancies and resolves issues with minimal supervision.
Operational Excellence:
Efficiency-Oriented: Continuously improves accounting processes and reporting accuracy.
Tech Proficiency: Uses accounting systems (e.g., Bloomberg AIM, Eagle, Geneva) and advanced Excel.
Requirements
Job Requirements and Credentials:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy or Finance.
Experience: 1-2years of relevant accounting experience in portfolio accounting, or trade lifecycle/operations.
Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of financial instruments, the end-to-end trade lifecycle, and proficiency with portfolio accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Other: Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to work independently and in a team.
Certifications: CPA qualification is a plus.
Experience Investment Management organizations or fund administrators is an advantage.
