THE COMPANY SOCAR Energy Switzerland is part of the international SOCAR Group and operates an extensive network of petrol stations and retail sites across Switzerland. The organisation comprises 6 legal entities in Switzerland and Austria. ROLE & IMPACT This is a business‑critical position. It combines operational controlling responsibility with strategic sparring at CFO level. We are looking for a highly experienced professional with a long‑term perspective. Age is not a factor — relevant experience, maturity and stability are what count. You will create transparency, structure financial data and deliver sound decision‑making foundations for management, operating within an international multi‑entity environment of high complexity. The role requires the ability to further develop structures and set priorities independently in a dynamic setting.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Ownership of monthly closings and management reports
Variance analyses and KPI evaluations
Management of budget and forecast processes
Medium‑term financial planning
Further development of reporting and planning structures
Close collaboration with CFO, Finance, IT and operational units
Professional mentoring of the Junior Controller
REQUIREMENTS – MUST‑HAVE CRITERIA
University degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration, or equivalent qualification
Minimum 8–10 years of solid controlling experience, including independently building and developing processes
Very strong Excel skills
Experience in monthly closing and management reporting
Experience in budgeting and forecasting
High degree of autonomy and structured working style
English C1/B2+ essential — working language for all finance topics and reporting
German is an advantage (not required — working language is English)
Background in Oil & Gas, Energy, Manufacturing or Retail preferred — operational substance is key
Candidates from Banking / Financial Services are not suitable for this role
REQUIREMENTS – DESIRABLE
Experience with SAP
Experience with IBM Cognos Analytics / Cognos BI (trainable — not an exclusion criterion)
Experience with IBM Planning Analytics / TM1 (trainable — not an exclusion criterion)
Experience in analytical data modelling (no data scientist required)
Leadership potential with willingness to manage the Junior Controller going forward
Russian language skills are an advantage given international interfaces within the group structure
