Main missions of the position
1. Conduct of courses and programs
·Facilitate training sessions in order to guarantee the achievement of objectives
·Assessment and support of learners by adapting content and teaching methods according to needs
·Participation in the organisation of the annual planning of courses and programs
2. Participation in the maintenance and development of tools, machines and didactical material
·Participation in the analysis of course equipment, tools and documentation, in view of their development, adaptation, creation or purchase
·Close cooperation with suppliers to ensure maintenance and upgrading of the equipment needed to cover course needs
·Cost monitoring of the equipment under the instructor's responsibility, in collaboration with the training manager
3. Contribution to the Worldwide Partnership Program with watchmaking schools
·Taking part as an expert or representative for intermediate and final examinations at WOSTEP Switzerland or at the WOSTEP Worldwide Partnership Schools.
·Participation in supporting the smooth operation of partnership schools, also through audits and assessments
·Maintaining close collaboration with the training teams of the partnership schools the instructor is in charge of monitoring
·Follow-up of final examinations as a WOSTEP representative, and editing of related reports
·Follow-up and updating of tools and components provided to partnership schools
Knowledge required
Watchmaking
·Multi-year experience in servicing, maintaining, and repairing fine mechanical and electronic watches
·Knowledge of specific tools, equipment and techniques related to watch servicing, as well as workshop environment
Micromechanics
·Basic mechanical tasks (drilling, sawing, filing, threading)
·Knowledge of metrology and precision measurements for watch component manufacturing
·Knowledge of materials and alloys used in watchmaking
·Extensive experience in precision machining (turning, milling, indexing machine/precision boring machine, between-centres lathe)
·Knowledge of technical drawings and CAD design tools is an asset
·Any experience in high-end watch finishing (graining, circular graining, sun bursting, snail finishing, linear brushing, basics of bevelling, etc…), will be a plus
Teaching environment
·Ease in presenting subjects in ways that make it engaging for learners
·Any educational experience / training is a plus
Required profile
·Business-level English (min. IELTS level 5.5-6.5 or CEFR level B2/C1)
·Intermediate-level French (min. IELTS 4-5 or CEFR B1)
·Ability to design and conduct training
·Ability to communicate effectively with different audiences (learners, trainers, business partners)
·Analytical skills
·Systematic and methodical approach
·Knowledge of pedagogical/andragogical principles, methods and tools is a plus
·Swiss CFC “Watchmaker” or equivalent qualification, with an extensive experience in micromechanics.
·Advanced proficiency in Office Suite, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
·Enhanced IT skills in content management and CAO (SolidWorks or similar)
