Provide IT Support on an As-Needed Basis
We are seeking a skilled Desktop Support Engineer to provide IT support on a part-time, dispatch basis. This role involves working on an as-needed basis, with varied work hours depending on support requests.
Key Responsibilities
1. Offer first/second level contact and problem resolution for customer issues.
2. Collaborate with Third Party Vendors to remediate complex AV issues as needed.
3. Ensure timely communication on issue status and resolution.
4. Maintain accurate ticket updates for all reported incidents.
5. Install, upgrade, support, and troubleshoot Windows operating systems (XP, Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10) and Microsoft Office 2010. Cisco Jabber is also an authorized desktop application.
6. Familiarity with the Mac operating system is required to support Apple PC users.
7. Install, upgrade, support, and troubleshoot printers and computer hardware.
8. Perform general preventative maintenance tasks on computers, laptops, and printers.
9. Perform remedial repairs on desktops, laptops, printers, and any other authorized peripheral equipment.
10. Utilize diagnostic tools to troubleshoot problems associated with network connectivity and workstation hardware/software.
11. A broad understanding of IT principles, including networks, servers, audio/visual, smart devices, and telecoms, is essential.
12. This position requires adaptability and teamwork in a project-based environment. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
Requirements
1. A valid work permit is mandatory.
2. In-depth knowledge and understanding of IT and computers are required.
3. Several years of experience in a related field are preferred.
