Our vision in green technologies, e.g. Decentralized Green Utilities, is vital for the protection of the world’s natural resources and mitigate environmental impact from human activity. With this R&D manager opening, we aim to build our own ecosystem, dedicated to the development of green, energy efficient climate technologies such as atmospheric water harvesting technologies, and sustainable cooling systems for improved human welfare. These are the fresh water and environmental requisites for our target – a sustainably distributed eco-system to address the energy-water nexus.
We are currently looking for a highly motivated Lead/Senior Thermal Engineer to join our team in our new brand offices in Ecublens – Lausanne Area.
This position is 100% on site.
YOUR MISSION
• Manage and lead research & development efforts with team members. This include providing technical expertise and guidance to team members
• Conceptualize, design, and implement innovative process engineering strategies for our sustainable and eco-friendly products
• Define and execute R&D tasks to achieve technology – commercial product integration
• Collaborate and identify inter-departmental strategic research initiatives
• Identify and define R&D Technology Readiness Level (TRL) and milestones, together with team members to ensure alignment with project timelines and project budget
• Develop and execute plans to construct experimental prototypes and testing protocols to characterize system performance
• Planning and execution of design of experimental campaigns to validate experimental/simulation results
• Promote a culture of innovation and competitiveness
• Assessment of components within the pilot-level and mass-production
• Contribution to our IP strategy and patent activity to grow our patent portfolio
YOUR PROFILE
• M.Eng. or Ph.D. degree in Thermal/Mechanical/Energy/Process Engineering
• Extensive knowledge and expertise in applied heat and mass transfer of energy systems
• Knowledge in fluid flow/mechanics (pipe flow, flow in cavities etc.) and heat transfer (single-phase) are mandatory
• Knowledge in phase-change heat transfer, i.e., two-phase flow and evaporation, is highly desirable
• Proven track record with hands-on experience in conceptualizing innovative novel ideas to realizing Proof-of-Concepts (POCs) and/or prototype demonstrations
• Excellent problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge in design and implementation of control applications is an asset
• Fluent in English
