Director, New Business Development for Drug Substance – Europe & ROW (excl. North America) - Remote
Your Role: The role offers possibility of remote work. Eligible hiring locations include Germany, Spain, France, and Switzerland.
New Business
* The target customers include emerging, mid‑size, and large pharma companies possessing early to late‑stage clinical development projects and commercial products comprised of APIs and advanced intermediates.
* Take ownership of new customer/contact prospecting within Europe and the Rest of the World (excluding North America), presenting Siegfried’s global technical capabilities with a focus on drug substance, while also highlighting Siegfried's drug product offerings.
* Formulate and implement New Business Development (NBD) strategies based on market research and industry insights.
* Engage in Siegfried’s social marketing activities to raise awareness of company offerings and planned events.
* Support client visits to the various sites within Siegfried's global manufacturing network.
Stakeholder Management
* Orchestrate joint efforts with global and local departments to grow the business. Plan and align with customers on their requirements, forecasts, and firm orders to help ensure seamless execution of new business within the global network.
* Work with technical teams to evaluate and assess new projects, enabling the preparation and submission of written proposals.
* Develop contracts with new customers (in conjunction with the relevant Siegfried departments) and remain responsible for monitoring and compliance.
* Develop and maintain long‑term business relationships with new accounts post customer acquisition.
Your Profile
Knowledge and Experience
* At least 5 years of sales or business development experience in the CDMO space.
* Relevant experience in the API/generic pharmaceutical industry (R&D, production, project management) is a plus.
* BSc / MSc / PhD in chemistry, natural sciences, or chemical engineering is preferred.
* Proven ability to facilitate and negotiate governing contracts, with a strong appreciation for pricing fundamentals and business concepts.
* Aptitude for social marketing and customer communication techniques.
Experience maintaining CRM databases and forecasting applications.

* Driven and entrepreneurial mindset. You enjoy strong teamwork but can also work autonomously to achieve your goals.
* A high degree of resilience and determination is essential, as the industry is competitive and requires the ability to effectively convey Siegfried's value proposition.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work with both domestic and international colleagues.
