R&D Microfluidics Engineer (Wädenswil)
Creoptix AG, a brand of Malvern Panalytical, provides next-generation bioanalytical instruments based on proprietary Grating-Coupled-Interferometry (GCI) technology. Our products are used for drug discovery and life sciences in both industry and academia.
Our instruments combine advanced opto-mechatronic engineering with sophisticated software, enabling precise and reliable bioanalytical measurements. To strengthen our interdisciplinary R&D team in Wädenswil, we are seeking a passionate and skilled Microfluidics Engineer.
Your role and responsibilities
You will focus on developing microfluidic subsystems and related process control software for our instruments.
* Collaborate with engineers and application scientists to understand domain-specific requirements and use-cases.
* Create concepts, plan and execute feasibility studies, perform calculations and simulations.
* Explore manufacturing technologies and materials, liaise with suppliers for off-the-shelf or custom components.
* Build and refine proof-of-concept prototypes integrating hardware and software.
* Develop and test process control software to optimize instrument performance.
* Assist operations and service teams in implementing manufacturing, testing, and servicing instructions.
Required Qualifications :
* Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Biomedical Engineering, Physics, or related fields.
* Minimum 2 years of experience in product development engineering.
* Strong interest in microfluidics; candidates with strong qualifications but without prior microfluidics experience will also be considered.
* Proficiency in programming languages such as Lua, Python, C / C++.
* Hands-on mechatronics skills for building and testing prototypes.
* Experience in computational fluid dynamics is advantageous.
* Proactive, results-driven mindset with a strong sense of ownership.
* Excellent communication skills in English.
