GTS (Global Trade Solutions) is a key strategic business for the HSBC Group with a history spanning almost 150 years. We are the largest international trade bank, with a global presence covering over 90% of the world's capital flows. GTS offers trade finance and risk mitigation solutions to clients worldwide, from SMEs to multinationals, throughout the trade cycle, including commodities, global sourcing, technology, and infrastructure. HSBC provides over 100 trade and receivables products.

The Global Trade Solutions Sales Manager role is responsible for generating new business and managing business development initiatives.

What you will do:

1. Focus on the CIB (Corporate Institutional Bank) Switzerland client base, acting as the bank's face, positioning HSBC as the key GTS provider, establishing new client relationships, and strengthening existing ones.
2. Assess and originate opportunities with clients by developing a strong understanding and advisory dialogue with this complex client base, ensuring their evolving needs are met globally.
3. Originate, own, and drive the execution of new mandates to develop and maximize our GTS franchise within the Swiss market, providing domestic and cross-border trade products and services to strategic clients.
4. Drive GTS coverage of Swiss clients globally to maximize wallet share, collaborating with internal stakeholders to optimize the GTS proposition.
5. Establish new business relationships and strengthen existing ones, ensuring fair outcomes for all customers.
6. Protect the bank's reputation and ensure an acceptable risk profile through credit and customer due diligence reviews.
7. Maintain HSBC internal control standards, implement Group Compliance policies, and minimize operational risks.

In this role, you will:

1. Maximize revenue growth through GTS business development for CIB and inbound clients globally, leading the GTS coverage for Swiss clients.
2. Develop strategies to win strategic business and increase GTS wallet share by understanding client priorities and offering tailored solutions.
3. Manage pipelines and follow the sales process as defined by Business Development Transformation.
4. Promote awareness of GTS products, strategies, and competitors within relevant communities.
5. Stay informed of regulatory and business environment changes affecting clients and the bank.
6. Ensure all sales documentation is complete for performance tracking and future targeting.
7. Continuously assess and improve sales processes.
8. Keep senior management informed of obstacles and issues.

Requirements:

1. Extensive knowledge of global trade finance, services, products, including working capital solutions (RF, SCF), traditional trade (Letters of Credit, import/export finance), and guarantees.
2. Market awareness, understanding of trends, competition, and regulation.
3. In-depth knowledge of GTS back and front office operations.
4. Knowledge of Credit & Risk mitigation techniques.
5. Broad understanding of CMB client base.
6. Proven sales management experience with a strong sales record.
7. Bachelor’s Degree and trade-related industry qualifications.
8. Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation, analytical, and leadership skills.
9. Organizational skills to prioritize effectively and meet deadlines.
10. Customer-driven approach with high commercial awareness.
11. Ability to interact with C-Suite and sophisticated clients.
