Cancer Support Switzerland is a non-profit organisation offering free support in English to people affected by cancer across Switzerland and neighbouring regions. Following a successful expansion to Zurich, we are strengthening our local presence and building partnerships to meet growing needs.
The Zürich Coordinator is the primary representative of Cancer Support Switzerland in the region and leads our local outreach, partnerships, and volunteer coordination. You will work closely with the national team to align activities, build visibility, and support the growth of our services in Zurich. This is a part-time role (60%) with flexible hours.
Location & Working Conditions
This role does not have a fixed office location. The coordinator will workfrom home, with regular in-person meetings in the region (in rented spaces as needed), as well as meetings with partners and occasional visits to the Geneva office. Flexibility and comfort with remote teamwork and self-organisation are essential.
Areas of responsibility:
Partnerships and outreach
·Develop and maintain relationships with local stakeholders in the health, cancer, and English-speaking communities.
·Represent the organisation at key events, conferences, and networking opportunities.
·Organise local visibility events and campaigns, in collaboration with the national team.
Communications, awareness and outreach
·Contribute region-specific content to Cancer Support Switzerland’s communications (e.g. social media, website, newsletter etc.) in collaboration with the Communications and Awareness Manager.
·Coordinate, support and oversee Zurich-based volunteers contributing to communications and outreach, as part of the existing core volunteer team,in line with national messaging and campaign goals.
·Coordinate the activities of Zurich-based volunteers across outreach, communications, and service support.
·Facilitate regular volunteer meetings and engagement,
·Help identify volunteer needs and contribute to recruitment efforts in collaboration with the national Volunteer Coordinator.
·Participate actively in Management Team meetings, reporting, and strategic planning.
·Serve as the regional liaison, ensuring Zürich activities align with national priorities and the team stays informed.
·Assist in the ongoing development and growth of Cancer Support Switzerland’s presence in the Zurich region.
·Identify potential fundraising opportunities in the region
·Provide input to fundraising strategy and applications
Logistics for cancer support services
·In collaboration with the Support Services Coordinator, identify spaces needed for support services, activities, meetings etc. and support additional logistics and other arrangements for Zürich-based services Ensure that any new client requesting a service is directed through the intake channel
·Ensure that any new clients expressing interest in support services are referred through the appropriate intake channel, this includes providing clear information on next steps.

Director (based in Geneva)
Requirements:
-Fluent English and German
-Experienced team player
-Proven experience in building and coordinating teams and developing an organisation
-Experience in working with volunteers
-Good communication and partnership building skills
-Experience of working with a non-profit is a plus
-Work experience related to cancer, health & wellbeing is a plus
-Experience with social media platforms, communication and data management tools is an advantage
