Reporting to the PD Director Guess & Marciano Man, the Senior PD Man, Outerwear & Beachwear is responsible for leading and managing the team of Apparel PD to research, develop, and launch new products for all Guess specific Lines.
The role will coordinate and supervise the product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle, including: gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements in line with the retail direction, defining the product vision as well as the market needs, working closely with design, sales, marketing, production, sourcing & buying departments and forecasting to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. The PD Manager's job also includes ensuring that the product supports the company's overall strategy and goals.
Core Job Responsibilities
Oversee and manage the product process in line with business goals and objectives
Maintain the product calendar to ensure that all sample deadlines are met
Source raw materials as needed for Designers and factories
Create specification sheets for all new products developed
Work with the product management team to ensure an efficient process
Participate in cross-functional teams to execute the product development plan
Realize and follow-up technical cards with suppliers
Communicate daily with factories to monitor sample progress and troubleshoot product development issues
Visit factories to resolve issues as required
Manage costs and referencing of styles
Attend fashion and textile shows
Provide SKU analysis as needed
Fitting of prototypes
Check lab-dips, artworks, and size developments
Manage quality control of production, approve top samples, and troubleshoot issues
Comment on prototypes and salesman samples (SMS) to vendors through Enovia
Create and manage style/colour codes and data maintenance in systems like Enovia and Stealth
Fill Bills of Materials (BOMs) in Enovia for SMS and production stages
Develop style grids per supplier to track the collection
Handle cross-costings upon the sourcing team's request
Requirements
At least 6-7 years of relevant work experience in a similar role
Knowledge of and experience using various fabrics and materials
Familiarity with vendor management and negotiation
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-up
Problem-solving and negotiating skills
Flexible in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
Deadline-driven with a proven track record of timely results
High level of self-management and flexibility
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop), Enovia and Centric
Fluent English; additional languages are a plus
Ability to travel internationally within designated regions as needed
