Job Description

* About the Role

The HR Business Partner (HRBP) is part of Gavi's Human Resources Department, working in close partnership with assigned business units and in direct support of the Senior HR Business Partners. This role manages a defined client population, delivering high-quality operational and advisory HR support, while also actively contributing to broader HR initiatives, projects, and cycles as delegated by Senior HRBPs. The HRBP enables efficient HR operations, partners on people solutions, and helps deliver Gavi's people agenda at the business unit level, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities and HR best practice.

The core mission of the role is to provide effective, proactive, and solutions-oriented HR partnership to assigned client groups, and to support the Senior HRBPs in delivering complex projects and strategic HR cycles across the organisation.

Key stakeholders include assigned client group (e.g., department, business unit), Senior HR Business Partners, HR colleagues, line managers, and employees.

* Key Responsibilities
* Deliver operational and advisory HR support to a defined client group, including employee relations, performance management, recruitment coordination, and policy guidance.
* Support the Senior HRBPs in executing key HR projects, initiatives, and organisational change programmes—contributing to data gathering, analysis, communications, and follow-up.
* Coordinate and support HR processes such as annual performance management, compensation reviews, onboarding, and workforce planning within the assigned client group.
* Serve as the first point of contact for HR policy questions and employee relations issues in the portfolio, escalating complex or sensitive matters to the Senior HRBP as needed.
* Monitor HR metrics and employee data for the assigned area, supporting the Senior HRBPs in preparing reports, identifying trends, and informing decision-making.
* Actively contribute to a positive organisational culture by building strong working relationships with business partners, ensuring clarity, transparency, and engagement in all HR matters.

* Your Experience and Skills

Years and Type of Experience:

* Typically 4–7 years of professional experience in Human Resources, ideally including HR generalist or HR partnering roles in multicultural or international environments.
* Experience in providing operational HR support, supporting HR processes and projects, supporting policy reviews.
* Demonstrated experience supporting the adoption of digital solutions, automation, or HR process improvement—brings a strong mindset for operational efficiency and innovation.
* Experience supporting the management of employee relations cases or sensitive employee cases would be an asset.

Education and Qualifications:

* Essential: University degree, or equivalent qualifications in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organisational Development, or a related field.
* Certificates in people and data analytics, coaching or learning and development would be an asset

Technical and Functional Skills:

Must Have:

* Solid understanding of HR operations and processes (recruitment, performance management, employee relations, HR policy, onboarding) with a penchant for leveraging AI and digital tools to improve and automate processes wherever possible.
* Good organisational and time management skills, able to coordinate multiple HR processes and prioritise workload.
* Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills—able to build trust and provide clear guidance to managers and staff.
* Proficient in HRIS systems and comfortable with data management and reporting.
* Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team, and to support more senior HR colleagues.

Good to have:

* Experience supporting HR projects or change initiatives.
* Exposure to international NGO or public sector environments.
* Training or certification in project management or HR analytics.

Languages needed:

* Required: Fluent English (written and spoken).
* Preferred: French.
