Mechanical Technical Engineer (ATLAS Magnet Project) (EP-ADO-SO-2025-84-LD)
Mechnical Technical Engineer (ATLAS Magnet Project) (EP-ADO-SO-2025-84-LD) at CERN
At CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, physicists and engineers study the fundamental structure of the universe using the world’s largest and most complex scientific instruments. The role involves maintenance and operation of the ATLAS superconducting magnets, and R&D to benefit present and future superconducting detector magnets.
Key Tasks
* Join a team of experts ensuring the smooth operation of the ATLAS superconducting magnets, and other superconducting detector magnets at CERN.
* Prepare maintenance works for annual end-of-year maintenance and long shutdown periods; execute these works, typically in a hands-on capacity.
* Contribute to Research and Development of technologies for superconducting detector magnets and related technologies through the CERN Experimental Physics R&D programme.
* Contribute to the education of new generations of students and graduates in superconducting detector magnet technology.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
