Senior Project Manager Laser Technology
About The Role
You will lead cutting‑edge product development projects within our Engineering / R&D organization, focusing on advanced laser‑based systems. Working closely with a highly skilled, interdisciplinary team, you will drive projects from concept through development to product realization. This role offers a unique opportunity to combine technical depth with project leadership, shaping innovative solutions in a dynamic and international environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and deliver complex product development projects and project portfolios within Engineering / R&D
Take full ownership of project execution, including scope, schedule (WBS), resources, budget, and risk management
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
Drive cross‑functional alignment and decision‑making across Engineering, Operations, Product Management, Marketing, Sales, and other stakeholders
Plan and facilitate project reviews, workshops, and key decision forums
Support customer interaction by providing regular project status updates, ensuring transparency on progress and timelines, and understanding customer perspectives
Manage project governance, including planning, reporting, change control, and lessons learned
Ensure consistent application of project management processes, tools, and standards
Contribute to continuous improvement of project execution and organisational processes
Leadership Expectations

Your Profile Qualifications
Degree in Engineering or a related technical field
Technical Expertise
Strong technical background, ideally in laser technology, photonics, or complex optical instruments
Solid understanding of product development processes in high‑tech environments
Experience with ISO 13485 / medical device development environments is an advantage
Project Management Experience & Certification
Proven track record delivering complex technical product development projects
Experience managing large projects or project portfolios
Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2 or similar) is an advantage
Professional Skills
Strong stakeholder management and cross‑functional coordination skills
Excellent planning, organisation, and problem‑solving capabilities
Ability to manage complexity and drive structured execution
Language Skills
English: business fluency (written and spoken)
German: a plus
Travel Expectations
Willingness to travel up to 10%, including international travel
