Context
The Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) has been the International Organization for Migration's (IOM) main operational tool for tracking and monitoring the movements and evolving needs of displaced populations since 2004. It has been systematically deployed in medium to large-scale humanitarian response operations in the last five years, including in all Level 3 emergencies. During 2019, DTM has been active in over sixty (60) countries, tracking and monitoring over 14.5 million displaced persons worldwide.
The DTM Global Systems Management (GSM) Unit is responsible for all global system components including data management and data science, data responsibility and governance, web and database application systems, technology and innovation, management of global projects and inter-agency coordination. The GSM is responsible for supporting country and global data consolidation, and the implementation of data quality control mechanisms. Recent application developments and scaling led by the GSM has seen a heightened needed for data management expertise within the global team to support DTM country and regional operations.
Under the overall supervision of the Global DTM Global Coordinator and the direct supervision of the DTM Information Management Officer, the Data Management Officer (Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM)) will be responsible and accountable for assisting with development, training and roll out data management activities. The successful candidate will work closely with the Global DTM team and the Regional Offices (RO) and Country Offices (CO), providing basic support for the setup, implementation, and maintenance of DTM data ingestion pathways.
