Responsibilities
* Reinforce the importance of EHS in the Swiss German-speaking region and actively support local installation and service teams in meeting or exceeding EHS objectives.
* Lead by example and promote a strong Otis Safety Culture, with a strong presence in field operations across Eastern Switzerland.
* Implement, manage, and maintain environmental, health, and safety programs aligned with Swiss legislation (EKAS, SUVA, VUV, ArG) and Otis global standards.
* Conduct regular field audits, site inspections, toolbox engagements, and in-process safety observations at branch locations and job sites.
* Coach technicians, fitters, and supervisors on safe working practices, incident prevention, and compliance requirements.
* Act as the primary EHS point of contact for Swiss German-speaking regions.
* Collaborate with operations to integrate EHS ownership at branch and project level.
* Work closely with EHS Managers in the Otis EMEA Operating Area to align with corporate processes and reporting.
* Support continuous improvement actions, risk assessments, training needs, and local compliance initiatives.
* Prepare and deliver EHS analytics for leading and lagging indicators, including incident reporting, audits, corrective actions, and training status.
* Coordinate hazardous materials procedures, waste disposal, and environmental requirements according to Swiss law.
* Support incident investigations, root‑cause analysis, and closure of corrective/preventive actions.
* Maintain accuracy of EHS documentation, Swiss‑specific legal requirements, and Otis process compliance.
* Ensure frequent and systematic field presence (travel across the country required ≈40‑60%).
Education / Certifications
* Technical or vocational education (EFZ) in a related field (Elektro, Mechanik, Gebäudetechnik, Metallbau, Montage, etc.) PLUS further EHS education.
* Higher technical education (HF / FH) in Engineering, Facility Management, Safety, Environmental Sciences, or equivalent.
* Recognized Swiss safety qualifications are a strong advantage: Sicherheitsfachmann/Sicherheitsfachfrau EKAS; Arbeitssicherheits‑ und Gesundheitsschutz (ASGS) training; SUVA recognized EHS certificates.
* Experience in elevator, construction, or field service industries is an advantage.
Experience / Qualifications
* Experience in Health & Safety, environmental management, or technical field operations within Switzerland.
* Strong knowledge of Swiss EHS legislation (EKAS Richtlinien, SUVA Vorgaben, VUV, ArG).
* Strong interpersonal skills, coaching skills, and the ability to influence technicians and field supervisors.
* Experience working in field operations, service environments, or construction sites.
* Ability to work independently and manage a broad field region.
* Excellent communication skills in German and English; French is an advantage.
* Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office applications).
