Overview
Senior Software Architect – 80%‑100% (all genders) at Mettler‑Toedo International, Inc, Greifensee, Zurich, Switzerland. Join our global leader in precision instruments and services. We are looking for an enthusiastic senior architect to drive our laboratory balance platform across mechanical, electrical, and software domains.
Responsibilities
* Lead overall software architecture by designing scalable, maintainable solutions that align with business goals and technical requirements.
* Select and evaluate appropriate technologies and frameworks to ensure optimal performance, scalability, and reliability across our product portfolio, drawing on systems‑engineering expertise.
* Embed company security standards into architectural decisions and keep them up to date with evolving threats and best practices.
* Mentor and guide the software development team and fellow architects in architectural principles, clean code, and best practices through design reviews, knowledge‑sharing sessions, and cross‑team collaboration.
* Manage stakeholder communication effectively, supporting clear negotiation and presentation to align project goals with the technical vision.
Qualifications
* Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or comparable experience.
* At least five years of hands‑on experience in software architecture within an embedded environment, ideally in industrial high‑tech or product development settings.
* Excellent in‑depth knowledge of C++ programming and Linux operating systems (Debian).
* Familiar with or eager to engage with C# and Python.
* Ability to derive technical architecture directly from customer requirements and business drivers.
* Demonstrated leadership in collaborating with cross‑functional architect teams to build a cohesive, evolutionary, and maintainable technical vision.
* Experience mentoring and upskilling engineers and architects, promoting a proactive, solution‑oriented mindset with a passion for clean code and elegant design.
* Strong interpersonal skills, fluent in English; German is a plus; thrive in a multicultural, international setting.
