We are looking for aJourney Level Machinistto join our Services_AMEteam in United States.
Your main tasks and responsibilities:
* Performs layouts, sets up, and operates conventional machine tools as requiredReads and interprets all drawings, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
* Designs setups and methods where none exist
* Instructs other shop personnel in proper machining techniques: set-ups, feeds and speeds for both carbide and high-speed steel cutting tools, methods and standard operating procedures
* Improves methods for higher quality and improved costs
* Assist maintenance in diagnosis, repair, and preventative maintenance
* Operate jib cranes and forklifts as directed by Supervisor/Area Supervisor
* Supports, cooperates with, and participates in company-wide safety program which includes following all safety policies and procedures
* Supports and cooperates in company-wide quality management effort
* Performs other duties as necessary
To succeed in this role, you will need:
* High school graduate or equivalent
* Completion of a machinist apprentice program or equivalent training
* Ability to hold close tolerances and conduct component inspections
* Demonstrated ability to effectively set up all, or at least most, of the following machines: I.D./O.D. grinder, turret lathe, engine lathe, knee mill, radial drill, horizontal boring mill, vertical boring mill, and planer mill
* Ability to perform with a minimum of direct supervision
* Working knowledge of tool geometry and application
* Working knowledge of effects of feeds and speeds
* 4 years experience in machine shops on the above equipment
* Willingness to work in a team environment
* Ability to work overtime as required
