Technical Support Team Lead – SBM Offshore
SBM Offshore is the world’s deepwater ocean‑infrastructure expert, advancing decarbonisation and supporting the blue economy. We are seeking a Technical Support Team Lead to coordinate technical staff across the Region and ensure operational safety, reliability and continuous improvement.
Purpose
Lead and coordinate the technical team within Process and Facilities, Mechanical, EC &I, ASI and MoC. Provide technical direction, ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements, support continuous improvement and drive operational reliability across the region.
Responsibilities
Oversee and ensure the competence of all technical personnel assigned to the Area/Region.
Provide guidance and support to technical leads and engineers, escalating critical issues to HQ when necessary.
Implement the Process Safety Barrier Management system, completing assurance tasks and mitigation activities for all units in the Area/Region.
Monitor and evaluate performance of key activities, providing monthly Asset Integrity feedback to HQ through the MAR report.
Drive continuous improvement in operational performance by ensuring efficient execution of MOC, planned and unplanned maintenance, and inspection activities.
Ensure compliance with corporate strategies, management systems, classification standards and regulatory requirements.
Review risk assessments and mitigation plans related to deviations, changes and hot work; obtain approval from relevant discipline experts.
Conduct regular site visits to verify effective implementation of the Process Safety Management (PSM) system and related maintenance assurance activities.
Assist in the development and management of the Maintenance & Inspection budget for all units in the Area/Region.
Review Tier 2 incidents, assign actions, oversee Root Cause Analysis (RCA) studies and ensure lessons learned are documented and implemented.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
Experience
Strong understanding of process safety, asset integrity and risk management.
Proven experience in technical personnel management and development.
Excellent communication, leadership and problem‑solving skills.
Minimum of 10 years of industry experience.
