Could you be the VIE – Testing & Commissioning Engineer we’re looking for?
As a VIE based at the train testing depot, you will participate in the testing phase of the ICNG project, ensuring successful service and interacting with the local operational team. You will be incorporated into the System Engineering team for functional systems (Doors, Heating Ventilation AC, Passenger Information, Driver’s Desk…), where you will:
Carry out tests of trains in accordance with the testing procedure and as per the delivery schedule
Understand and report critical issues that may affect reliability growth
Support Alstom products performance by detecting and solving critical issues to meet the expected reliability target
Maintain a very good level of English (written and spoken)
Testing & Commissioning
Understand in detail the Acceptance Criteria of the customer for the Project / Product
Respect rigorously the test procedures
Ensure that all Serial Test Procedures are covered and complete test reports
Manage the repair of failures as soon as they appear
Trace each failure with precision and rigor
Escalate to the EPU Test Manager when deviations remain unsolved
Propose improvements to the process
Work in a team spirit and with transparency with shifts
Ensure interface and a perfect working relationship with Test Engineering Technician, Industrial Quality
Escalate any non‑up‑to‑date testing tools
Be aware of KPIs and performance on the respective KPI goals
Reliability / Availability / Maintenability
Understand in detail the Acceptance Criteria of reliability at train level and system level for the Project / Product
Support stakeholders (design, industrial, sourcing, validation, etc.) in defining appropriate measures to meet reliability actions
Define responsibility, failure mode, and possible root cause via data analysis from Alstom monitoring system (HealthHub) and subsystem logs; detect patterns and occurrences that critically impact reliability
Contribute to the analysis of issues identified on the field (8D) that have a significant impact on product reliability performance and support the resolution outcome
All about you
Minimum degree in engineering or equivalent (scholarship in Railway Industry is a plus)
1-2 years’ experience in industrial activities related to electrical, control, onboard communications, or network systems
Knowledge of IT tools and smart devices
Familiarity with high‑risk activities associated with electrical work and EHS requirements
Good technical level in electrical, electronic, mechanical, and network domains
Result‑driven mindset with problem‑solving and decision‑making skills
Proficiency in programming (AI, Python, VBS, Excel, Power‑BI) highly appreciated
Strong communication skills and ability to work in a multi‑cultural environment
Fluent in English
