How you can make a difference: As a Medical Research Engineer, you will be part of an interdisciplinary R&D team working on the future of mechanical ventilation systems. Your role involves understanding ventilation principles, developing and testing data-driven signal processing algorithms to identify critical patient-ventilator interactions, and supporting application prototyping through to clinical validation with a product-focused approach.
That’s what you bring along: A Ph.D. in a relevant engineering or scientific field (software engineering, biomedical engineering, physics, or related disciplines) or equivalent experience outside academia
Strong programming skills in Python and Matlab; experience with various technologies and frameworks is a plus
Hands-on experience with software development, prototyping, and version control systems
Experience with data and signal processing
An analytical, independent, and meticulous work style
A flexible, creative, and pragmatic mindset with openness to interdisciplinary collaboration
Fluency in English
It is also advantageous to have experience with web development frameworks (like Django or Flask), RESTful API design, container technologies (such as Docker), cloud technologies (Azure, Kubernetes), database systems (SQL), and data science/machine learning.
