Drive the connectivity, interoperability, and cybersecurity of IP‑connected HVAC field devices. In this role, you lead cross‑functional workstreams, translate complex stakeholder needs into robust architectures and requirements, and ensure secure, standards‑compliant products across the full lifecycle. You’ll be a key expert and influencer at the intersection of networks, embedded devices, and building technology.
What You'll Do
Lead complex workstreams and cross‑functional initiatives, coordinating colleagues from development, verification, quality, and product management.
Contribute to the connectivity roadmap, network security posture, and protocol strategy (e.g. BACnet/SC, Modbus TCP, HTTPS/REST).
Perform competitor and feasibility analyses for IP networking features and define product concepts balancing performance, cybersecurity, and cost.
Elaborate system concepts via architectures, use‑case flows, and interaction models; translate stakeholder needs into clear, testable system requirements.
Own and manage requirements for IP connectivity, interoperability, and cybersecurity, ensuring protocol compliance and security‑by‑design (e.g. secure boot, signed firmware, PKI, hardening).
Apply and enhance processes, methods and tools, using IP toolchains (e.g. Wireshark, BACnet/IP test tools, TLS/cert tooling, fuzzing) and facilitating cross‑disciplinary workshops.
Who You Are
BSc or MSc in a technical field, with strong fundamentals in electronics and software; HVAC application knowledge is a strong plus.
Proven methodological expertise in requirements engineering (elicitation, structuring, decomposition) and concept elaboration into architectures and requirement models.
Several years of experience in device product development, including hands‑on work with IP‑connected HVAC or similar mechatronic devices.
Deep knowledge of IP communication technologies (e.g. BACnet/IP, Modbus TCP, HTTPS/REST), network fundamentals (VLAN, DHCP, DNS, NAT, QoS...
