German Fluent Legal Counsel - EMEA Based
Position to support Head of Legal EMEA & APAC by providing legal advice and support to internal clients and external stakeholders across the organization. Work with US colleagues; based in Frankfurt, Germany, with occasional travel across EMEA.

Job Description
The bilingual (fluent German & English) Legal Counsel will assist the Head of Legal EMEA & APAC in supporting internal clients and external stakeholders on legal matters. The role will provide effective legal advice, counsel, and support to the organization and work with US colleagues.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
* Good knowledge and experience of local commercial laws
* Reviewing and negotiating IT/SaaS commercial contracts and service level agreements, including vendor contracts
* Undertake research on legal topics and provide general legal advice when requested
* Assisting in the development of legal templates and best practices
* Engaging with legal counterparts of vendors and clients
* Ensuring compliance with company policies and guidelines within agreement terms
Skills
* Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
* Preparing contract paperwork; advising on contractual rights and obligations, mitigating risks; compiling and analyzing data; maintaining historical information
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills – written and verbal
* Ability to communicate across cross-functional teams and with customers
* Detail oriented with strong organisational skills
* Balancing competing priorities of constituencies relative to business needs
Knowledge & Experience
* Law degree with 2–4 years PQE, including relevant experience in IT law, Privacy Law, and general contracting law
* Admitted to Local Bar with current license to practice law
* Contract negotiations – develop, assess, and negotiate contracts on service terms, conditions, NDAs, and commercial documents
* Knowledge of legal issues affecting software companies globally (data privacy, cloud & SaaS, AI, IP protection)
* HR/Employment law – not a requirement but highly preferred
* Fluency in German & English is a must
* Experience working in private practice and in‑house at a technology company
* PC proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
