This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Lead/Staff Platform Engineer in Switzerland.
This role sits at the core of a next-generation AI‑powered software engineering platform, where internal tooling, developer experience, and AI agent workflows converge. You will shape how software is built, tested, secured, and deployed across the organization, ensuring both human engineers and AI agents operate effectively within the same ecosystem. The environment is highly technical, product-driven, and deeply focused on engineering excellence and automation. You will define and scale the foundational platform that enables fast, secure, and reliable delivery across teams. This is a hands‑on leadership role with strong ownership, where your work directly influences developer productivity and system reliability. You will operate at the intersection of platform engineering, DevEx, and AI‑native workflows in a fast‑moving, high‑impact setting.
Accountabilities
You will define, build, and evolve the core platform and engineering foundations that support all product teams and AI‑driven workflows, ensuring scalability, security, and developer efficiency. You will act as both architect and hands‑on engineer, shaping how software is built and delivered across the organization.
Shape and improve the end‑to‑end engineering lifecycle, including local development, CI/CD, deployment pipelines, and production feedback loops
Define and enforce standards for testing, infrastructure‑as‑code, observability, and secure software delivery practices
Build shared platforms, tooling, templates, and “golden paths” that improve developer velocity and consistency
Own secure delivery practices by embedding security scanning, secrets management, dependency controls, and supply‑chain protection into core pipelines
Design infrastructure and tooling that enable AI coding agents to operate effectively within engineering systems
Improve system feedback loops and measure platform effectiveness using DORA metrics and engineering productivity signals
Partner with product teams to ensure adoption of platform standards and continuously raise engineering maturity across the organization
Requirements
You bring a strong software engineering foundation combined with deep platform engineering experience and a pragmatic mindset toward building scalable internal systems. You understand both developer needs and system‑level constraints, and you are comfortable working in AI‑augmented environments.
Strong background in software engineering with significant experience in platform or infrastructure engineering roles
Proven ability to design and build internal developer platforms and engineering tooling at scale
Deep expertise in CI/CD systems, automated testing frameworks, and infrastructure‑as‑code practices
Strong understanding of modern software security practices, including SecDevOps and shift‑left security approaches
Experience building developer‑centric platforms with a product mindset and measurable impact on engineering velocity
Familiarity with AI coding agents and an understanding of their strengths, limitations, and integration patterns
Experience with observability, production systems, and distributed architectures in cloud‑native environments
Strong communication skills and ability to influence engineering teams through technical leadership rather than hierarchy
Bonus: experience with end‑to‑end testing frameworks (e.g., Playwright) and scaling testing infrastructure
Benefits
Fully remote and flexible working model
High‑impact role with significant ownership over core engineering infrastructure
Equity participation aligned with company success
Opportunity to shape next‑generation AI‑native software development workflows
Work in a high‑caliber, engineering‑driven environment focused on excellence and innovation
Strong emphasis on individual ownership and technical leadership recognition
Direct visibility into product impact and fast feedback loops from engineering users
Inclusive, global team culture with a focus on autonomy and performance
