About the role : The Accounting Manager designs and implements processes related to US tariffs documentation requirements for Finance, ensuring end-to-end service delivery. This role guarantees the quality and effectiveness of these processes, ensuring that systems, documentation, compliance, and reporting are in place.
Beyond the US tariffs process, the Accounting Manager serves as a key resource for statutory accounting and works closely with the NOCC and FRA R2R Swiss teams, Group / Swiss Tax, and business units. This collaboration ensures appropriate statutory accounting treatments and year-end statements. The role additionally will be responsible for overseeing and managing various projects within the organization, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

About the Role
* Manage the execution of strategies for US tariff projects. Provide operational oversight to deliver services at expected levels with a clear customer focus, including handling exceptions.
* Possess strong Swiss statutory and tax accounting competence, acquired through auditing experience in major auditing firms.
* Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status and addressing issues promptly.
* Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for related policies and processes, supporting productivity objectives, continuous improvement, process changes, and leading practices to ensure efficient and effective processes.
* Lead and manage project teams to deliver projects successfully. Develop and implement project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
* Ensure all processes, policies, and procedures are clearly defined, fully documented, and compliant with standards.
* Ensure adherence to Novartis Accounting Manual (NAM), Novartis Financial Controls Manual (NFCM), and regulatory requirements; define and document processes in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); perform controls, follow up on deviations, and implement remediation plans if necessary.
* Promote a strong control environment, follow up on audit issues, and implement corrective measures.
* Support external and internal audits.
Minimum Requirements :
* University degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or Chartered Accountant / MBA preferred.
* 8+ years of financial/accounting experience with deep functional expertise; experience in auditing or consultancy is a plus.
* Proven ability to work effectively in a multinational organization.
* Experience in managing projects and driving performance improvements.
* Lean / Six Sigma certification is preferred.
* Proficiency in English (written and spoken); German skills are beneficial.
