You provide legal support to Schindler’s Trademark Team, with particular focus on trademark prosecution and will report to the Global Head of Trademarks.
Main tasks include:
Trademark Searches and Clearance
Preparing and filing Trademark Applications before IGE and WIPO
Replying to Office Actions issued by IGE and WIPO
Corresponding with foreign IP firms to deal with Office Actions and Oppositions
Attending Trademark Watch
Drafting or reviewing cease and desist letters, Prior Rights Agreements, letters of consent
Optimizing trademark portfolio e.g. through replacement, seniority claims
You have the ability to work independently, with foresight, in a structured and conscientious manner. You are a team player, accountable, pragmatic and have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Further requirements include:
Law Degree, possibly with an Intellectual Property Rights orientation
At least 5 years’ experience as a Trademark Attorney either in-house, in private practice or in IP organizations
Sound knowledge of the trademark registrations procedures and regulations before IGE and WIPO
Familiar with the most commonly used trademark search and monitoring tools
Excellent communication and writing skills
Fluent in English and German, French is an advantage
