Project Engineer – Biotech Engineering (HVAC & Utilities) A global life sciences organisation is seeking a Project Engineer to support engineering activities within a Biotech Development Center in Switzerland. This role focuses on HVAC and utilities systems, contributing to both basic and detailed design, and execution of CAPEX projects. The engineer will provide expertise to ensure all activities align with EHS and quality standards.
Responsibilities include:
Technical solution definition for HVAC and utilities systems.
Execution and coordination of CAPEX projects.
Managing contractors, overseeing technical documentation, and ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality requirements.
Coordinating suppliers and stakeholders to maintain project schedule and compliance.
Essential Requirements MSc in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
5–10 years of engineering experience in industrial environments.
Experience in HVAC and utilities design and project execution.
Proven ability to manage contractors and coordinate suppliers.
Experience handling technical and quality documentation.
Strong understanding of project management principles (budget, planning, milestones).
Ability to define technical solutions and ensure compliance with EHS and quality standards.
Strong stakeholder management skills.
Experience working in fast‑paced, project‑driven environments.
Strong communication, teamwork, and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to manage stress and adapt to changing project needs.
Fluent in French (preferred).
Preferred Requirements Experience in GMP‑regulated environments (pharma/biotech, GxP).
Prior exposure to biotech or pharmaceutical development facilities.
Experience working on CAPEX projects.
Familiarity with work‑permit processes and industrial site requirements.
