Job Description
* To drive the delivery of capital projects, ensuring timely implementation of new or improved assets aligned with business requirements and within agreed cost and safety parameters.
* To establish a high-performing engineering organization that delivers projects while meeting health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements as well as maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.
Accountabilities:
* Develop and implement a regional engineering strategy aligned with both regional and global strategies, striking a balance between customer requirements and established standards to support the organization effectively and respond to business needs.
* Establish, manage, and deliver capital projects within budget to ensure effective use of assets and resources while supporting business growth, cash flow, and cost targets. Oversee processes, capacity planning, and resource allocation for maximum efficiency and cost reduction.
* Partner with leaders across the regional organization to deliver on annual or multi-year maintenance/capex plans to improve system/technology availability, capacity, and efficiency. Collaborate with dedicated organizations/customers for reliable and cost-effective project outcomes.
* Deploy an 'engineering excellence' strategy (including investment, technologies, and deployment of asset management systems) to support the business strategy; identify and develop engineering capabilities to drive organizational transformation in the region (processes, systems, people). Ensure focus on execution strategy, design, efficiency, and agility.
* Regional owner responsible for ensuring the organization is up to standard in using tools and processes designed to optimize capital projects implementation, from design to delivery. Establish success criteria to ensure engineering operations run smoothly and efficiently, ultimately leading to improved productivity, higher-quality, and increased profitability.
* Lead the regional engineering organization through transformation and change, establish and model a culture of continuous improvement, securing high levels of engagement from teams.
* Develop the talent pipeline as well as functional capabilities (engineering) relevant capabilities; model coaching and mentoring and a culture of constructive and immediate feedback.
Requirements:
* A minimum 10 years of experience in an engineering role within an industrial environment combined with significant responsibility in large/complex/challenging engineering projects.
* A track record of leading teams and developing/engineering capabilities.
* A solid technical background in process technology and/or chemistry and/or engineering.
* Familiarity with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and compliance.
* Must have experience in project management and construction of systems and equipment used in large industrial facilities, R&D, and office-space environments. Experience in waste-to-energy facilities or facility operations/maintenance support is desirable.
