Job Description
The successful candidate will support the technical development of packaging and delivery systems for new oral drugs within the Novartis Oral Packaging & Delivery Systems Group, from early phase activities up to commercialization and production scale up. The role requires a strong technical background in pharmaceutical packaging and drug delivery medical devices, and excellent interpersonal skills to support, monitor, and challenge internal and external development partners.
Job Purpose: The Global pharmaceutical intelligence & Forensics strategy is embedded in the Anti-Falsified Medicine program. This role is part of the Authentifield Library team, reporting to the Anti-Falsified Medicines Director in the CoE in Global Security.
The Authentifield Library Producer oversees spectral library production, collaborates with PharmINT associates, manufacturing sites, and external partners. Responsibilities include building and maintaining NIR spectral libraries to aid detection of falsified medicines and managing exhibits and samples in the PharmINT Warehouse in compliance with technical, environmental, and health and safety standards.
Major Activities & Accountabilities
* Library Production: Manage the production of spectral libraries, including collection, recording, and validation of spectral data. Ensure operational status and calibration of LabScanner devices.
* Exhibit Management: Oversee receipt, documentation, and storage of forensic exhibits. Ensure proper chain of custody and maintain accurate records.
* Quality Assurance: Maintain Labscanners in the Authentifield ecosystem through preventive maintenance, ensuring accuracy, traceability, and adherence to quality standards. Maintain documentation of library production processes.
* Collaboration: Work with internal stakeholders including quality control labs and manufacturing sites. Provide insights and support during forensic casework and library production activities.
* Training and Support: Provide training and assistance to end-users on accessing and utilizing the Labscanners in the Authentifield ecosystem.
Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in chemistry, spectroscopy, or related scientific field, or equivalent education with pharmaceutical industry experience.
Professional Experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience in spectral analysis, pharmaceutical evaluation, or related field. Experience in managing spectral libraries and conducting spectral assessments is essential. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Proficiency in spectroscopy tools and techniques. Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements. Detail‑oriented, organized, and able to work independently. Strong teamwork and collaboration skills. High integrity and professionalism. Ability to adapt to changing technologies in spectroscopy and spectral library production.
* Specific Experience: Office and laboratory settings. Adherence to security protocols; ensuring confidentiality and integrity of spectral data and reports. Knowledge of analytical technology and equipment, including qualification and calibration. Proficiency with databases, SAP, MS Office, SharePoint, and laboratory applications (e.g., Chromeleon).
* Workload: 100% (40 hours per week). Role type: Onsite.
