Key Responsibilities:
Analyze the current chemical database architecture and technology stack to identify areas for improvement and modernization.
Design and propose a modernized architecture utilizing up-to-date technologies and best practices to enhance performance, scalability, and security.
Develop and execute a comprehensive migration plan, encompassing data mapping, transformation, validation, and testing to ensure a seamless transition.
Ensure chemical data integrity, consistency, and compliance throughout the migration process, adhering to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Research & Development (R&D) and Information Technology (IT), to align project goals and ensure successful implementation.
Provide detailed technical documentation to support the new architecture and migration process, facilitating future maintenance and updates.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Cheminformatics, Bioinformatics, or a related field.
Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in cheminformatics, including chemical structure representation, substructure search, and molecular data handling.
Hands-on experience with chemical cartridges such as Biovia Direct, RDKit PostgreSQL, or ChemAxon JChem Cartridge.
Solid understanding of database technologies (, Oracle, ArangoDB, PostgreSQL, AWS RDS).
Programming experience in Python, Java, R, and familiarity with web frameworks (, AngularJS, ReactJS, Oracle APEX).
Experience with workflow applications and data analytics software is a plus (Pipeline Pilot or KNIME).
