Start Date: As soon as possible Contract: Permanent position Location: Pratteln, Switzerland Workload: 100% (40 hours/week) Work model: Hybrid – minimum 50% on-site presence in Pratteln Position Overview We are recruiting on behalf of a globally operating retail supply chain organisation for a permanent Indirect Tax Specialist to join an international finance team focusing on indirect tax compliance. In this role, you will be responsible for securing indirect tax compliance across multiple international jurisdictions, including VAT/GST, Intrastat and other indirect tax obligations. You will support operational units and finance stakeholders and contribute to audits, projects and continuous process improvements. This role is positioned at a junior to early professional level and is intended for candidates who want to deepen their technical expertise in indirect tax, rather than move into people management. It is ideal for an indirect tax professional who enjoys structured compliance work, international exposure and working with multiple stakeholders in a dynamic, in-house environment. Main Responsibilities -Ensure indirect tax compliance for assigned countries by preparing, reviewing and submitting indirect tax returns (VAT/GST, Intrastat, listings, etc.) -Review and analyse indirect tax compliance data for multiple jurisdictions -Support and participate in multi-country indirect tax audits and requests from local tax authorities -Handle additional indirect tax topics, including taxes related to food products where applicable -Perform VAT rate determination for assigned countries -Support internal stakeholders on indirect tax matters (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Accounting, Financial Controlling, etc.) -Participate in and support indirect tax-related projects -Ensure internal working processes are implemented, updated and continuously improved -Prepare reconciliations between indirect tax filings, ERP systems and other reporting tools -Support payment and refund processes -Initiate and contribute to process improvements -Perform other indirect tax-related tasks assigned by the Indirect Tax Manager Your Profile You are a detail-oriented and analytical tax professional who enjoys working in an international, fast-paced environment. You are comfortable handling multiple deadlines, working with complex data, and collaborating across functions. You are looking for a long-term in-house role and value stability, technical depth and continuous learning over fast vertical career moves. Must-Haves -Relevant university degree (BSc/MSc) in economics, business administration, law or a related field -2–3 years of hands-on professional experience in indirect tax / VAT compliance -Hands-on experience in indirect tax compliance across multiple countries (purely domestic / Switzerland-only VAT experience is not sufficient) -Hands-on experience preparing, reviewing or submitting indirect tax returns (VAT/GST) -Fluent in English (written and spoken) -Strong Excel skills -Proven ability to work with multiple information systems -Strong analytical and problem-solving skills -Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines -High attention to detail -Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills -Flexible, positive attitude and growth mindset -Willing and able to work at least 50% on-site in Pratteln (rolling average) -Already eligible to work in Switzerland (Swiss or EU/EFTA citizenship preferred) -Living in Switzerland or within reasonable commuting distance (incl. cross-border FR/DE) Nice-to-Haves -Experience in a multinational or shared service environment -Exposure to supply chain, logistics or retail-related tax topics -Experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP) -Experience supporting indirect tax audits -Knowledge of indirect tax topics related to food products About the Organisation Our client is a globally operating supply chain organisation in the retail environment, known for its international scope, collaborative culture and continuous improvement mindset.
