Ph3Overview /h3 pThe Countdown Company is looking for a mechanical engineer to develop tailored mechanical systems across multiple industries, including aerospace, watchmaking and the food industry. /p h3Work Environment /h3 pBased in Orbe, Switzerland, the role offers a non‑corporate, multidisciplinary setting with a workshop on the ground floor and an office on the first floor. All tools required for product development are vertically integrated. /p h3Responsibilities /h3 ul liDevelop mechanical systems ensuring compliance with specifications and quality standards. /li liParticipate in all engineering phases of system development: specification, design, analysis, manufacturing, testing and commissioning. /li liCover all mechanical engineering fields in system development: structure, drive, pneumatics, hydraulics, automation and safety. /li liUse CAD software to create detailed designs, drawings and complex assemblies. /li liDimension mechanical structures and elements. /li liConduct feasibility studies and analysis to evaluate design concepts. /li liPrototype and test mechanical components and assemblies to validate design concepts and performance criteria. /li liIdentify and mitigate technical risks and resolve technical issues and conflicts. /li liDefine specifications and architecture for mechanical systems and sub‑systems. /li liParticipate in design reviews, project meetings and cross‑functional discussions. /li liAssist planning and participate in manufacturing, assembly and integration activities. /li liSupport sales in assessing project feasibility and providing cost breakdowns. /li liContact and negotiate with suppliers. /li liPrepare technical documentation: presentations, reports, manuals, procedures. /li liStay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies and best practices in mechanical design and manufacturing. /li /ul h3Qualifications /h3 ul liBachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field; Master’s degree and/or polytechnic formation preferred. /li liAt least 3 years of professional engineering experience in mechanisms or industrial machine development. /li liExperience in developing complex products, demonstrating technical excellence. /li liProficiency in French and English; German is a plus. /li /ul h3Preferred Skills and Experience /h3 ul liExperience with SolidWorks (including PDM). /li liKnowledge of finite element analysis for structural analysis. /li liStrong understanding of mechanical principles, materials and manufacturing processes. /li liExperience in a workshop environment. /li liExperience with prototyping, testing and validation of mechanical components and systems. /li liExcellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail, with a focus on delivering high‑quality solutions. /li liKnowledge of Swiss suppliers for mechanical parts and services. /li liAbility to work effectively in a collaborative team environment, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. /li liFamiliarity with product development processes from concept to production. /li liGood organizational skills, capable of working on several projects in parallel. /li liExperience with at least one industry standard (e.g. CE, FDA, IEC, ECSS). /li liDriving licence (category B recommended; category BE a plus). /li /ul /p #J-18808-Ljbffr
