As the Data Governance & Delivery Lead, you will be responsible for establishing, enabling, and sustaining enterprise-wide data governance and data delivery capabilities in support of the global S/4 HANA transformation. Reporting to the Senior Director, Enterprise Master Data Management, this role provides strategic direction and execution leadership across information governance, data migration, and ETL delivery.
This role has direct leadership responsibility for the SAP MDG Techno-Functional Lead and associated delivery teams, ensuring alignment between enterprise data strategy, governance frameworks, and technical execution. The Director operates as a key integrator across strategy, architecture, governance, and delivery, with accountability for both successful program outcomes and long-term data capability maturity.
Your Tasks:
Enterprise Information Governance Strategy & Enablement
Define and implement enterprise-level information governance frameworks, policies, and operating models aligned with global master data standards, regulatory requirements (GxP, SOX, FDA), and ERP transformation objectives.
Establish governance processes across data domains, including ownership, stewardship, decision rights, escalation paths, and performance metrics.
Enable governance through appropriate tooling (e.g., SAP MDG, Syniti, data quality, metadata, and lineage tools), ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and S/4 HANA design principles.
Partner with the Senior Director to stand up and mature an Enterprise Data Governance organization for long-term sustainment and continuous improvement.
Data Migration Leadership – S/4 HANA
Own and drive the end-to-end data migration strategy and execution across all S/4 HANA phases, including profiling, cleansing, mapping, transformation, validation, reconciliation, and cutover readiness.
Provide oversight and strategic direction to data migration leads and teams, ensuring disciplined execution, transparency, and risk management.
Govern mock load cycles, defect management, and data readiness checkpoints in close collaboration with program leadership, functional teams, and system integrators.
Ensure data migration outcomes meet quality, compliance, audit, and business readiness expectations.
ETL & Data Delivery Sustainment
Define and implement enterprise ETL strategy, architecture, and operating model to support post–go-live sustainment and future data enablement initiatives.
Establish standards and processes for data ingestion, transformation, validation, monitoring, and remediation across SAP ecosystems.
Build and lead a sustainable data delivery organization, including internal teams and strategic partners, with clear accountability and performance metrics.
Drive continuous improvement in data quality, automation, and operational efficiency.
Leadership, People Management & Capability Building
Provide direct leadership, coaching, and performance management for the SAP MDG Techno-Functional Lead, ensuring alignment between MDG product strategy, governance objectives, and delivery execution.
Set clear direction and priorities for MDG, data migration, and ETL teams, enabling effective delegation and scalable execution.
Develop leadership depth and technical capability within the data organization to support long-term enterprise needs.
Foster a culture of accountability, quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Strategic Stakeholder Partnership
Act as a trusted advisor to Enterprise Solutions, ITS, and Business leadership on data governance, migration, and delivery topics.
Translate enterprise strategy into executable roadmaps while balancing immediate program demands with sustainable future-state design.
Influence cross-functional and senior stakeholders to align on data standards, governance decisions, and investment priorities.
Represent data governance and delivery topics in steering committees, governance boards, and architecture forums.
Your Profile:
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field required
Master's degree or MBA preferred
8–12+ years of experience in data governance, data migration, ETL, or enterprise data delivery within large-scale ERP transformations
Demonstrated leadership of SAP MDG and data migration initiatives in S/4 HANA programs
Proven experience managing senior technical leaders and global delivery teams
Experience in regulated industries (life sciences/pharmaceuticals preferred)
Strong ability to operate strategically while driving disciplined, high-quality execution
Strategic thinking with strong execution discipline
Ability to lead through complexity and ambiguity
Executive-level communication and influencing skills
Strong people leadership, talent development, and change management capabilities
Commitment to integrity, compliance, quality, and sustainable outcomes
