Senior Category Management Professional
The Senior Category Management Professional will be a key member of the Sourcing & Procurement team, leading the development of indirect category sourcing strategies for key vendors in Europe. This role will drive the identification, assessment, selection, negotiation, and execution of contracts with key EU vendors.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Develop both immediate and long-term global sourcing strategies/plans for the EU indirect vendors with a focus on Commercial, G&A, and Med Affairs areas.
* Collaborate with the Procurement Operation team to implement EU procurement processes and systems, providing trainings to local stakeholders.
* Work closely with business stakeholders, including senior executives, to identify sourcing needs.
* Assess, benchmark, and negotiate existing key vendor contracts, bringing in new vendors as needed.
* Monitor and continue improving local vendor performance by implementing supplier KPIs.
* Collaborate with the FP&A team on vendor cost budgeting, forecasting, and saving validation.
This role requires strong negotiation, influencing, and conflict resolution skills, as well as the ability to interpret and comprehend contracts. Fluency in English is required, with full command of German (and preferably French) for business negotiations, supplier, and vendor management.
Key Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in a business or finance-related field with a minimum of 8+ years of sourcing experience and category knowledge of commercial/G&A/Med Affairs.
* Deep knowledge of the European vendor landscape in the life science industry is essential.
* Excellent contract negotiation and review capabilities, as well as proficient system knowledge of S2P, CLM, and ERP.
* Experience in international vendor risk assessment and management process/tools, as well as good understanding of pharma/biotech regulatory, quality, and compliance requirements.
