Roche is shaping the future of diagnostics by building integrated solutions that connect instruments, software, services, and clinical workflows into a seamless ecosystem. To ensure these solutions deliver meaningful value to laboratories, clinicians, and patients worldwide, the Customer Experience & Solution Design (CXSD) Chapter plays a central role. With more than 50 specialists across UX, research, service design, and solution strategy, the chapter drives Roche’s ambition to create intuitive, evidence‑based and human‑centered experiences across the entire diagnostics portfolio.
To strengthen this mission, we are looking for a Solution UX Lead—a senior design leader who can translate complexity into clarity and guide multidisciplinary teams toward coherent, high‑quality user experiences across multiple products and touchpoints.

You act as the connective tissue between Product Management, Engineering, Medical, Regulatory, Quality, and business stakeholders—bringing structure, transparency, and customer‑centric decision‑making into large, multi‑year solution programs.
Key Responsibilities
Lead UX work across multiple streams, from early research and workflow understanding to solution definition, prototyping, validation, and launch readiness.
Translate clinical insights, business priorities, and system constraints into actionable design direction and experience frameworks.
Plan and manage UX activities, including estimation, resource planning, dependency mapping, and delivery tracking.
Coordinate designers, researchers, and cross‑functional contributors across global and distributed teams.
Ensure design outputs are consistent, evidence‑based, and ready for development, verification, and regulatory processes.
Embed UX into agile delivery structures, including backlog refinement, sprint rituals, PI Planning, and system demos.
Identify risks, scope changes, and cross‑team dependencies early and propose mitigation strategies.
Facilitate workshops, design reviews, prioritization sessions, and alignment meetings with senior stakeholders.
Coach teams on UX methods, customer‑centricity, and design excellence.
Represent UX in governance bodies, program reviews, and customer‑facing discussions.
Contribute to improving design operations, estimation practices, and delivery efficiency within the chapter.
What you bring
8+ years of experience in UX, product design, service design, human factors, or related fields.
A proven track record leading UX for complex digital, hardware, or healthcare solutions.
Strong project‑ and program‑management capabilities, including planning, estimation, prioritization, risk management, and progress tracking.
Ability to define UX work packages, milestones, and staffing needs for multi‑stream programs.
Experience collaborating with Product, Engineering, Regulatory, Quality, Research, and business stakeholders.
Excellent communication, storytelling, facilitation, and stakeholder‑management skills.
Strength in structuring ambiguity and translating insights into clear design direction.
Experience working in agile product development environments; familiarity with SAFe, Agile Release Trains, PI Planning, or Lean UX is a strong advantage.
Experience in healthcare, diagnostics, medical devices, laboratory workflows, or regulated industries is highly desirable.
Experience working with global, distributed, or matrixed teams.
Fluency in English; German is an asset.
Nice to Have
Experience with regulated product development, usability engineering, human‑factors validation, or risk management.
Contributions to design systems or solution‑level UX governance.
