About the team you are joining
Part of the Information and Data (I&D) Division, Data Governance team works to define and implement state-of-the-art data practices within our organization to make data and analytics more accessible, trustworthy, and actionable. Our goal is to maximizes the investment in data and analytics initiatives by promoting the proper use of analytics in business processes, ensuring accurate insights based on quality data, reducing risks with security, and guiding the prioritization of projects so the right information is available at the right time.
Reporting to the Senior Manager Data Governance and Modelling, the Data Analyst will be involved in the processes of cleansing, analysing, interpreting, and displaying data using different approaches and business intelligence tools and assisting in uncovering key insights that lead to better informed decision-making.
What your day would be like
As a Data Analyst, the incumbent will be working with business teams and other information technology professionals to support data collection processes, interpret various forms of data and present them in a useful and easy-to-understand manner. The responsibilities of the Data Analyst will:
Develop and maintain data collection pipelines, data analytics and other processes that leverage statistical methodology;
Analyse data and explore it for insights using statistical methods to test hypotheses, identify trends, and make predictions;
Interpret data, analyse results, generate information and insights from data sets and identify trends and patterns;
Perform analysis of data and write technical reports and presentations;
Assess quality of data and participate in data cleansing and preparation, including, but not limited to, removing errors, identifying outliers, and transforming data into a format that can be analysed;
Create dashboards and reports that communicate insights to stakeholders;
Collaborate with other employees, including engineers and programmers, to determine areas of improvement in relation to data.
We would love to hear from you if
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer/data science, mathematics, information management, statistics or related fields;
- Professional experience in a similar position;
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy;
- Strong knowledge of and experience with databases (Snowflake, SQL etc), programming (R, XML, Python), and ETL framework;
- Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analysing datasets;
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences;
- Fluent reading, writing and speaking abilities in English.
