IT Applications Engineer - Bloomberg, Tradeweb, FIX, Banking - this is a long term contract opportunity to join our Basel based client in the Banking sector.
Your tasks:
Support development and integration of trading and market venues, ensuring robust connectivity and data flow to supported banking applications.
Resolve incidents and issues related to external trading venues (e.g., Bloomberg, Refinitiv, Tradeweb, MarketAxess, Eurex, BidFX, CFETs, SIX), collaborating with both technical and non-technical teams for end-to-end solutions.
Document trading and market venue connectivity and support processes, promoting a culture of knowledge-sharing and continuous improvement.
Contribute to long-term system performance and resilience improvements, including out-of-hours support for system maintenance and failover testing.
Your experience/knowledge:
Experience as a Trading and Market Support Engineer in a financial services environment, including support for trading systems.
Demonstrated ability in managing entitlements and administration for trading and market venues.
Strong familiarity with market/trade data usage, performance monitoring systems, and message protocols (FIX, FPML/XML).
Advanced technical expertise in Linux/Windows and scripting (Python, Bash, Powershell); experience with integration technologies (Kafka or MessageQ) and SQL highly valued.
