Position Overview
In this position, you will be an experienced manufacturer of Fiber lasers. Responsible for the production and performance of each module and that manufacturing complies with specifications.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Responsible for production and the testing and screening of modules in a range of products.
2. Responsible for fault finding and making improvements to maximise efficiencies.
3. Conduct tests for improvements.
4. Assist in training & development of new Production Technicians.
5. Gather inputs to engineering through the life of the product including any changes or improvements to the product.
6. Provide feedback to product engineers to ensure that design is manufacturable.
7. Maintain up-to-date skills and training associated with the job.
Required Education, Experience, Skills, And Travel
1. Relevant degree qualification, HNC equivalent, or relevant Quality qualification an advantage.
2. At least six years of experience in the photonics industry.
3. Experience with multiple laser manufacturing methods. Experience with engineering documentation; bill of materials, work instructions, and assembly process documentation for new products.
4. Multidisciplinary engineering experience in mechanics and fiber optics.
5. Experience interacting with a range of other engineers.
6. Organised, structured and methodical.
7. Laser manufacturing experience.
8. Management skills.
9. Manufacturing techniques.
10. Teamwork skills and mentoring of junior team members.
Travel Expectations
Up to 5% annually.

Must be able to read and converse in English.
