Job Description
CERN's Electrical Power Converters group (EPC) invites you to contribute and grow in the field of power converters. You will leave your mark on the development/operation of the electrical systems for CERN's particle accelerators.
You will join the Accelerator Systems Department (SY), which is responsible for the beam-related technical systems of the CERN accelerators. The SY teams design, build and operate equipment systems in all CERN accelerators, and are engaged in ambitious forward-looking R&D programs.
The Electrical Power Converters group of the Accelerator Systems Department is responsible for the electrical power converters systems of the entire CERN complex.
You will join the Operation and Maintenance Support section (OMS), which coordinates and supports the Operation and Maintenance of EPC group equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design electronic subassemblies, integrate and wire them in power converters, and construct or supervise their manufacture, assembly and installation.
* Participate in the commissioning and testing of power converters.
* Plan and supervise preventive maintenance, troubleshoot and perform corrective repairs as needed.
* Ensure the implementation of necessary safety measures on sites under your supervision.
* Prepare documents required for task preparation and follow-up related to your assignments.
Requirements:
A higher technical diploma or equivalent relevant experience in electromechanics or a related field.
Required experience includes:
* Use of CAD tools (2D, 3D) for simple electromechanical assemblies.
* Installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of electrical power systems.
* Experience in designing power converters or power electronics.
Desired experience includes:
* Use of CAD tools for creating electrical schematics.
* Performing electrical tests.
Technical Competencies:

* Construction, test, and installation of power electronic components and systems.
* Operation and maintenance of power electronic components and systems.

Additional Information:

Work in Radiation Areas, interventions in underground installations, and a valid driving license are also required.
