The opportunity Join Hitachi Energy as our Regional Sales Manager Europe for our Automation & Communication business! This is a high-impact leadership role focused on driving growth, strengthening customer relationships, and shaping the future of energy automation. You’ll be part of a dynamic, international team, reporting directly to the Hub Marketing & Sales Manager Europe. This role offers flexibility in location anywhere within Europe. If you enjoy being close to customers and teams, you’ll thrive in this position—expect to travel 30–50% of the time across the region, building relationships and driving business where it matters most.
Responsibilities
* Design and execute regional sales and business development initiatives aligned with global goals, ensuring targets are met with efficiency and precision
* Set ambitious sales targets and lead your team to exceed them, implementing improvement plans where needed
* Identify and pursue opportunities with both existing and new customers, allocating resources to maximize acquisition success
* Coordinate the flow of sales data—leads, orders, contracts—and analyze performance to guide strategic decisions
* Build trusted partnerships with key decision-makers and ensure impactful marketing communications
* Achieve volume and product mix targets through smart pricing and margin strategies, while managing costs and negotiating key contracts
* Monitor client financials and proactively address contractual risks across channels
* Lead the development and execution of sales processes, training programs, and team development initiatives
* Organize and empower your team with the right structure, skills, and motivation. Foster collaboration and continuous learning across the region
Qualifications
* 10+ years in sales leadership roles, with a proven track record of leading high-performing teams across Europe
* Deep knowledge of the electrical and automation sectors, especially in Utilities, Power T&D, Substation Automation and Communication
* Skilled in managing virtual teams and driving multi-portfolio solution strategies
* Fluent in English, with strong written and verbal skills
* Experienced in navigating global matrix organizations
* Comfortable with and committed to 30–50% travel, enabling close collaboration with regional teams, stakeholders, and leadership across multiple locations
