To complete our global CMO sourcing team, we are looking for a
Sourcing Manager - CMOS (100%)
Responsible for overseeing the development and execution of sourcing strategies at CSL Vifor categories of contract manufacturing, with an annual value of $60m, expanding as CSL externalizes manufacturing and supply chain operations across the network.
The Sourcing Manager implements sourcing plans and tactics to effectively manage assigned projects and activities. A key aspect of this role is maximizing supplier performance and supporting the company’s savings plans, while ensuring alignment with management directives, company strategy, and goals.
This role is a vital part of the CMO Sourcing team, accountable for delivering category targets and establishing additional targets with CMOs to identify further TCO value, addressing Capacity, Quality, Service, Cost, and Scarcity constraints, and leveraging industry-leading innovation. The Sourcing Manager will also develop recommendations and action plans to support technical transfers, mitigate risks, and deliver benefits.
The position will influence strategies across the CSL Vifor network, streamline the manufacturing supply chain, and ensure product safety, risk mitigation, and multi-million dollar value delivery annually.
This role requires providing comprehensive market assessments to enable external partners to drive innovation, speed, agility, and cost improvements, supporting CSL’s 2035 ambitions.
Responsibilities
1. Develop Plans aligned to CSL Global and Procurement Strategy
2. Develop and implement annual action plans for strategic vendors based on the Global Category Strategy and CSL Vifor needs, aiming to reduce total cost of ownership and risk, while increasing innovation, customer service, compliance, and quality.
3. Establish and Maintain Effective Category Management and Bid Management
4. Drive value from global categories by defining and implementing category strategies, managing Councils for critical commodities, leading sourcing activities, negotiations, and achieving lower costs, risks, and improved supply performance.
5. Manage contractual agreements, including drafting, reviewing, and securing approvals in collaboration with Legal.
6. Conduct business ethically, comply with laws and regulations, and promote inclusion by utilizing diverse suppliers.
7. Manage SRM processes with suppliers, focusing on supply assurance, quality, service, continuous improvement, and innovation, while minimizing costs and measuring value beyond savings.
8. Ensure sourcing activities comply with CSL policies and standards.
9. Supply Performance Management
10. Monitor KPIs, conduct operational reviews, and ensure supplier performance meets standards.
11. Leverage supplier relationships for additional value and implement risk mitigation strategies.
12. Manage Stakeholder and Partner Relationships
13. Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leaders and vendors, to manage performance, issues, and procurement initiatives.
14. Participate in global projects and continuous improvement initiatives to achieve targeted benefits.
15. Lead opportunity analysis forums with stakeholders and suppliers to generate value and reduce costs.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Business, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or related field
* 5+ years of procurement or supply management experience
* Purchasing Management Certification (ISM / CPM, CIPS) preferred
* Strong time management and communication skills, results-driven
* Knowledge of the pharmaceutical or related industry preferred
* 2-3 years of CMO sourcing experience in pharma/bio industry preferred
* Experience establishing CMO relationships and technical transfer agreements
