Opportunity to join a dynamic and motivated team at lino Biotech AG in Zurich, working on the commercialization of a unique biosensor platform developed by Roche and ETH Zurich. Now part of Miltenyi Biotec B.V. & Co. KG. The sensor technology is based on a structured optical waveguide. Specific binding of the target molecules to the sensor surface leads to an increase in the refractive index in the evanescent field, which can be registered by light diffraction effects. We are looking for a specialist who can significantly shape and drive our up-scaling of sensor chip production. This requires training and experience typically found in the manufacturing of optoelectronic components, micro lenses, MEMS, CMOS, Evanescent field biosensors. The candidate will become an essential part of the small dynamic team of lino Biotech AG and will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology and contribute to the growth and success of the company.
Description
Responsibilities include:
- Analysis of current production methods and costs.
- Proposal for methods and tools for up-scaling with current waveguide technology.
- Quality assurance and supply chain design.
- Establishment of distributed production at our company, at Miltenyi partner companies or external suppliers.
- Lead a small production team.
- Evaluation and feasibility study for more cost-efficient sensor architecture including new material systems and coatings.
Qualifications
- Master degree or PhD in Material Science, Microsystems Engineering, Chemical Process Engineering, Microoptics, Nanotechnology or related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the semiconductor, sensor or MEMS industry.
- Strong hands-on experience in lithography processes and equipment (e.g. photolithography, electron-beam lithography, nanoimprint lithography, dip coating techniques, laser dicing, plasma cleaning, …)
- Strong surface chemistry background (i.e. surface adsorbing polymers, hydrogels, macromolecular chemistry, photochemistry)
- Good understanding of optical design
- Experience in process optimization and troubleshooting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a cross-functional team.
