The candidate will support the M&A Finance team by building financial valuation models, conducting detailed financial analysis, and analyzing business inputs internally and externally (e.g. benchmarking brokers) to inform strategic considerations.
Additionally, they will conduct industry research, competitive landscaping for M&A screening/assessments, and maintain internal databases.
Location: Basel Switzerland, Hybrid working model.
About the Role
Major accountabilities:
* Conducting detailed financial analysis, build P&L and cash flows for target companies/assets
* Analyzing business inputs and test underlying assumptions of the business case for robustness
* Researching public information and benchmark brokers on potential targets; build an outside-in valuation that informs strategic considerations
* Conducting industry research and competitive landscaping to facilitate M&A screening / assessments
* Contributing to improving M&A processes and systems
* Building and maintaining internal databases
* Excellent analytical skills with critical thinking abilities
* Profound knowledge of valuation methodologies and financial analysis of public companies
* Ability to conduct research and summarize key findings clearly
* Deep understanding of key subjects such as accounting, tax, treasury, as it relates to M&A
* Displays highest professionalism in an executive setting
* Agility to work under pressure in an unpredictable and demanding environment
* University Degree (Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics or any field with strong financial content)
* Proficiency in English required, verbal and written
