Automotive Adhesives business of DuPont is looking for a Technical Service & Application Development Leader f/m based in Freienbach.
Responsibilities and objectives :
Advancing Adhesive Technologies:
* This position requires a comprehensive understanding of automotive manufacturing standards, material compatibility, and performance requirements to ensure that the adhesive products developed meet exact specifications, as well as knowledge of testing equipment for testing adhesives and the quality requirements of OEMs and Tier suppliers in the transportation sector. – Providing customers with clear guidance on appropriate testing methodologies and ensuring consistency across regions
Customer Satisfaction:
* The goal is to continuously improve the product range while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction through direct communication with key customers. This may involve gathering feedback from customers, working closely with the account manager & marketing, understanding market requirements, and responding to them with innovative solutions.
Cross-Departmental Collaboration:
* Effective communication and collaboration between different departments (such as research and development, marketing, production, engineering, and quality assurance) is crucial for the successful development of new products, the improvement of mechanical testing procedures, the marketing of adhesive products, and the handling of customer complaints with troubleshooting.
Support Localization of Product Portfolio:
* this role will support localization efforts tailored to specific customers particularly COEM in EMEA. This may cover adapting products to meet local regulatory requirements and market preferences. Provide support for scale-up activities during commercial product launch and oversee manufacturing processes.
Portfolio Transformation to REACH compliance
* Legal requirements are currently undergoing significant changes, so the portfolio should be adapted proactively. For example, health and environmental concerns are driving demand for formulations with lower diisocyanate content. The person will lead the transition of the product portfolio to integrate these safer alternatives..
Require New Business through Application Development:
* The development of new application markets, such as the railway industry, will be an important aspect of this position. This includes not only identifying potential markets but also utilizing the commercial portfolio of these markets or determining the need for the development of customized adhesive solutions.
Compliance with Safety Standards:
* It is essential for the role to ensure that all developed products comply with relevant safety regulations and industry standards. This compliance is crucial not only for legal reasons but also for the safety and satisfaction of end-users.
Qualifications:
* Education: Master's degree in Material Science, Engineering, or a related technical field is required.
* Experience: Proven experience in polyurethane-based adhesive technologies and a solid understanding of adhesive applications in transportation, particularly within the automotive sector.
* Analytical Skills: Must possess an analytical mindset with effective problem-solving capabilities and technical knowledge in service operations.
* Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrate self-motivation and exceptional interpersonal skills to foster collaboration effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
* Hands-On Collaboration: Engage actively with production and quality assurance teams to drive improvements. Work closely with the engineering team to enhance mechanical testing processes.
* Language Proficiency: Proficient in English and German; knowledge of additional languages is advantageous.
* Technical Proficiency: Effective use of Microsoft Office for project documentation and reporting is expected.
* Laboratory Skills: Execute practical lab work in compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety standards.
* Digitalization Skills: Familiarity with software for statistical analysis and data visualization, understanding of Design of Experiments (DOE) principles, and Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA,) Artificial intelligence..
* Technical Troubleshooting: Capable of troubleshooting and resolving technical claims utilizing skills in analytical material characterization.
