POSITION SUMMARY
The Field Service Technician Level 5 (FST5) is the highest technician level, serving as a subject matter expert in electrical power systems. This role leads commissioning, complex troubleshooting, and failure recovery while providing mentorship and technical authority across the organization.
Core Responsibilities
* Lead commissioning and complex troubleshooting for LV/MV systems.
* Diagnose protection, controls, and integration issues.
* Serve as technical authority on site and during customer engagements.
* Support root cause analysis and corrective action development.
* Train and mentor technicians across all levels.
* Support engineering, sales, and project teams with technical input.
Required Skills & Knowledge
* Expert-level understanding of electrical power systems and controls.
* Advanced diagnostic and analytical capability.
* Strong leadership, documentation, and customer communication skills.
Qualifications
* High school diploma or GED required; technical degree preferred.
* 8+ years relevant experience.
* OSHA 30 required.
* Advanced OEM or system certifications preferred.
Physical Requirements
* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
* Ability to work in industrial environments and confined spaces.
* Willingness to travel to job sites as required (40-60%).
