Compliance Leadership Role
MSC Cruises seeks an experienced professional in legal compliance to join its corporate legal group. As a key member of the team, you will collaborate with other legal colleagues to foster a culture of teamwork and empathy. Your role will be instrumental in developing and managing MSC Cruises' global Corporate Compliance program, including headquarters, regional offices, ashore, and onboard. This position offers significant exposure to senior management, providing opportunities to drive momentum within the organization.
This program is essential in supporting the company's strategic vision by adopting a risk-based approach to meet stakeholder expectations and comply with legal requirements related to sanction regimes, anti-bribery, and corruption, anti-money laundering, and other regulatory frameworks. Your expertise will contribute to shaping a culture of trust, respect, and collaboration while contributing to the success of MSC Cruises on a global scale.
The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the Chief Legal Officer and in cooperation with the Advisory and Audit Function. Key responsibilities include spreading a Compliance and Ethics culture across the organization at all levels, leading the compliance agenda, monitoring and assessing compliance-related risks, staying abreast of regulatory changes, drafting policies and procedures, preparing training programs, managing the whistleblowing platform, and assisting in responding to requests from competent authorities and stakeholders.
Key Accountabilities:
• Spread a Compliance and Ethics culture across the organization
• Lead the compliance agenda and identify, monitor, and assess compliance-related risks
• Stay abreast of regulatory changes and draft policies and procedures
• Prepare and deploy training programs
• Manage the whistleblowing platform
• Assist in responding to requests from competent authorities and stakeholders
Qualifications (Skills, Competencies, Experience):
• 10+ years post-qualification experience in compliance within a law firm and/or legal department of a multinational company
• Law degree and/or LLM; admission to a bar, post-graduate qualification in business-related disciplines (finance audit, business administration), and compliance-certifications constitute a plus
• Perfect command of English (spoken and written); fluency in other languages, with Italian and French being preferential ones, would be advantageous
• Strong communication and persuasion skills at all company levels
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and manage deadlines in a fast-paced and rapidly evolving industry and work environment
• Proactive, attention to detail, and commitment to deliver work quality
• Knowledge of the Shipping, Travel, and Transport industries is an asset
