Job Description
As Associate Director in the Middle Office department, you will be in charge of the Institutional Operations Services team. The mission of the team is to be a critical bridge between the Front offices (Institutional Sales desks) and the Back/Middle Office teams (Settlement, Payment, Corporate Action, Tax and Post-Execution teams). You will support the business, help understand and relay Institutional clients’ needs at the intersection of operational efficiency and client satisfaction. Reporting directly to the Vice Director, you will supervise operational activities and people management in line with senior management expectations.
Key Responsibilities
* Team Management: Lead and support a team of 4 employees, foster a positive, collaborative work environment; support employee growth; address conflicts with senior management and HR Partner.
* Hiring: Lead recruitment with the Talent Acquisition Partner; ensure new hires are properly onboarded to the team, organization, culture, policies, and roles.
* Performance Management: Set performance expectations, provide feedback, conduct reviews, and address performance issues; conduct under-performance processes with senior management and HR Partner.
Operations Management
* Oversee daily operations in custody, payments, settlement, corporate actions and tax for Institutional and AM clients; coordinate onboarding for large institutional clients; ensure excellent service delivery to Institutional clients and B2B partners; support Back Office requests to external partners.
* Handle non-ordinary requests and issues; monitor capacity allocation; report KPIs for transparency against activity volume.
* Documentation & Procedures: Maintain up-to-date procedures and guidelines to develop team expertise; collaborate externally with Institutional Sales desks, International offices, and other departments (Central Data, Risk, Trading, Compliance, IT); collaborate internally with Back Office and Middle Office; participate in regular meetings with Sales desks and stakeholders; develop client-centric relationships and participate in client/counterparty meetings on Back Office topics.
* Project Management: Participate in developing operational efficiency by identifying areas for improvement.
Qualifications
* Minimum 7 years of experience in Back/Middle Office or Sales Support within a Bank/Financial Intermediary.
* Leadership experience is a strong advantage.
* Strong knowledge of financial markets, investment products, post-trade and payment processes.
* Service-minded and business-oriented with a good understanding of institutional client needs.
* Strong project management and problem-solving skills; ability to prioritize and deliver on multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills; results-oriented team player.
* Proficiency with MS Office, Telekurs, SWIFT messaging, and a general interest in technical tools.
